The Documentary Hypothesis

J1

This book investigates the "WHO" in who wrote the Hebrew Bible. Professor Wellhausen put forth his conclusion that there were no less than six different strands that were merged to make the final tome that was passed down to modern man. He based his theory on doublets of Bible stories, such as the creation myth, the Flood and various other tales that use a name of God in one setting and another name of God in the retelling of the story. He also showed where nationalism fitted into the Bible as refugees from the city state of Israel brought their holy books with them after the Northern Kingdom was destroyed. The various threads of holy writ were merged together after the refugees from Judah returned from Babylonian captivity and set about rebuilding the temple in Jerusalem. This book should be read with caution as it contains ideas that might impact your understanding of religion. Scheduled for publication after 2023. Hardcover: $14.99/Paperback: $10.99/e-Book: $3.99
